About 30 initiative groups selected on competition basis will come together in Vadul lui Voda town on October 1-3 to attend training courses which will help them establish Local Youth Councils across Moldova. The councils will be set up on the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Youth, in partnership with UNICEF in Moldova and in agreement with the European Charter on Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life and with the National Forum of Youth 2006. According to a press release issued by UNICEF, the Local Youth Councils will be a form of association of children and young people that will help them express their ideas and accomplish their own projects in order to meet the specific interests and needs of the communities they live in. In this way, the Councils will foster cooperation between the youth and the local authorities.
