UNFPA and Moldovan association to cooperate in healthcare

The Representative Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Moldova and the recently founded Club “Prosanatate” will establish cooperation relations. The intent was made public in the first meeting of representatives of the two entities, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy UNFPA Representative in Moldova Boris Galca said the meetings should become traditional. There will be discussed social problems, especially those faced in the heath sector. “We have common goals and they should be coordinated. We would like to have closer cooperation in the future and to meet every month to discuss different subjects,” said Boris Galca. He added they can also cooperate in training journalists so as to facilitate understanding of the state of affairs and identify solutions to some of the problems. Petru Chitanu, a founding member of “Prosanatate” and chairman of the Public Information Association “Publicmedia”, said the proposals are welcome. He stressed that the Club’s aims are to promote a healthy lifestyle and to monitor the reforms implemented in healthcare. The Club “Prosanatate” is an informal association founded on the basis of volunteering and free association of persons. The initiative to create a club centering on the promotion of health as a social value was put forward by “Publicmedia” and supported by the National Health Insurance Company.
