Thirty social apartments will be constructed in Glodeni. The apartments will be built by the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction within the second phase of a project to build homes for socially deprived groups of people and are distributed by the local public authorities on a tenancy basis, IPN reports.
The project surveillance committee decided that a building that was started in 1990 will be finished. It will be a block with five stories and with one, two and three room apartments. The total cost of the project is about €1 million.
Thirty social apartments were built in Glodeni district within the first stage of the project in 2009 - 2011.
The social homes in Moldova are built as part of a project that is financially supported by the Council of Europe Development Bank. This provided a loan of €20.4 million repayable in 20 years. About 700 social homes are to be built in eight districts of the country by the end of 2018, when the second stage of the project will be completed.
