The underground passages in Chisinau will be lit round-the-clock and will always be open following a relevant request made by Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca. The official requested the competent municipal subdivisions to remove the metallic gates at the entrance to passages if the conditions imposed by the Chisinau City Hall are not met, IPN reports.
In the March 16 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and subdivisions, Dorin Chirtoaca said the economic entities that rent areas in underground passages will have to secure the passages in a different way than preventing the pedestrians from walking through them at night. Contracting out guard services is a solution in this respect. Also, the police are to patrol these areas more intensely.
