Undeclared goods worth about 500 thousand lei found by customs officers in minibus

Consumer goods worth about 500 thousand lei, without documents of origin, were detected by the Customs Service mobile team officers in the cargo compartment of a minibus. The goods were purchased from the KM7 market in Odessa and introduced into the country through the Transnistrian region, bypassing the internal customs control posts.

According to a Customs Service press release, the vehicle was intercepted on the M5 route, near Calfa. Customs officers stopped the minibus, which they suspected of being involved in illegal transportation of goods, in order to verify its contents.

An investigation into the minibus driver, a Moldovan citizen, was initiated.

The court will decide whether to confiscate the goods. The confiscated goods are subsequently commercialized by economic agents that receive them under a consignment contract. If the goods fail to be sold, they are either given away for free to state institutions or are liquidated, in case they present copyright infringement of danger.
