UN Women Moldova organizes immersive exhibition dedicated to gender violence

The stories of four women from Moldova and Ukraine, from different backgrounds and ages, affected by violence, are presented in an immersive digital art exhibition titled “Rising from the Shadows: The Sun Never Goes Down”. The exhibition runs at the Kentford business center until November 26, with free admission and sessions available in Romanian, Russian and English.

The title of the exhibition is inspired by one of the stories exhibited, where a mother, in order not to cause suffering to her daughter and not to scare her, metaphorically called her aggressor “the sun”. The immersive experience combines visual arts, narratives and technologies with the aim of highlighting different forms of violence affecting women and making a call to action.

In a world where violence against women and girls persists as one of the most serious violations of human rights, the exhibition “Rising from the Shadows: The Sun Never Goes Down” is a call to action to not tolerate violence and contribute to the elimination of this phenomenon, says UN Women Moldova.

The exhibition is organized as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, with the support of the Moldovan Government and the financial support of the European Union, the U.S., Sweden, and Japan.
