Defender Alexandru Epureanu has been signed by the Turkish club Ümraniyespor for a period of six months. The 36-year-old could make his debut for the Süper Lig bottom-placed club on January 23 against Fenerbahce.

Over the past nine years, Epureanu played for İstanbul Başakşehir, helping the side win the Süper Lig in 2019-2020. Earlier in his career, he played Zimbru, Sheriff, FC Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, Krylya Sovetov and Anzhi.

Alexandru Epureanu was elected five times the best Moldovan footballer, in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2018. He was capped 100 times and scored 8 goals for the Moldovan national team.
