Ukrainian refugees can ask for parcels with food and nonfood products

The Ukrainian refugees who are in the municipality of Chisinau, but who do not live at placement centers can ask for parcels with food and nonfood products. They should first call the Green Line on 0800 800 11 and tell what things they need. The Green Line operators will direct the refugee’s application to the team of volunteers who will prepare the parcel with the necessary things, IPN reports.

“On their phone, the refugees will receive an SMS with a unique code and the address of the collection center where they can take the parcel. At the collection point, they need to present an ID (usually passport) and the unique code received by SMS,” it is said on the government information verification channel First Source.

The mechanism works only in the case of refugees who are in the municipality of Chisinau. “The Ukrainians who are housed by Moldovans in other cities and in villages need to go to the mayor’s office, which will refer them to the Unified Crisis Management Center. This will make sure that a response is provided in the shortest time possible.”

There are now about 200,000 Ukrainians refugees in the Republic of Moldova.
