Ukrainian entrepreneurs identify areas of interest in cooperation with Moldova
“We are first of all interested in developing cooperation in the winemaking sector,” Anatoli Kinah, the head of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine, a member of the Rada and former Prime Minister of Ukraine, said in the second Moldovan-Ukrainian Business Forum held in Chisinau.
Imports of Moldovan wine products into Ukraine in the first half of the year increased four times compared with the corresponding period last year, to 12.5 million liters. “This is a positive sign as regards the development of a healthy lifestyle. But the rise in the volume of strong alcoholic drinks consumed, including among teenagers and young people, arise concern. That’s why we would like to cooperate more efficiently with our Moldovan colleagues in the winemaking sector,” said Anatoli Kinah, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The use of renewable sources of energy for ensuring energy security is another area for cooperation mentioned by Anatoli Kinah. “Ukraine manufactures different equipment for producing energy from alternative sources. As Moldova has agricultural material for making biogas, we can cooperate in this area and launch a series of projects, including aimed at increasing energy efficiently,” he stated.
The Ukrainian MP also said that the two countries can cooperate in sugar industry as they have a rich experience in this field and can export sugar to third countries, and in working out innovative projects in different areas so as to increase the competitiveness of the goods. On the other hand, there will be created conditions for attracting local and foreign investments and for involving the human intellectual capacities exiting in the two countries.
Ex-Premier Vasile Tarlev, the chairman of the Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Moldova, said there were devised a number of projects to transport electric power through Moldova, produce biofuel and in the tourism sector. According to him, it is important to start implementing these projects that are mutually advantageous.
The second Moldovan-Ukrainian Business Forum was staged in Chisinau at the suggestion of the two organizations of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Moldova and Ukraine. The event precedes the meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission that will take place in Chisinau.
