Ukrainian Embassy in Moldova denies introducing new crossing rules at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border

The Ukrainian Embassy to Moldova denies introducing new crossing rules at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. According to the representative of the diplomatic mission, Feodor Mihleaev, more and more nationals of Moldova, including from Transnistria, request information about the changes in the border crossing procedures by car. According to him, the people are worried because of some false information published in the press which risks spoiling the friendly relations between Ukraine and Moldova. “The Ukrainian Embassy in Moldova announces that at the moment no changes were made in the procedures of registering the cars or their owners, as well as in the crossing regulations”, said the diplomat. The press published at the beginning of the week the statements of the Chief of the Migration Department of Transnistria, Evghenii Viuscov, who reported difficulties in crossing the Ukrainian border by the cars with Transnistrian registration plates. At a meeting with the Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov, Viuscov stated that the Moldovan border guards, without any justification, forbid cars with Transnistrian plates from crossing the border with Ukraine.
