Serghii Pyrozhkov also spoke about the relations between Ukraine and Moldova, saying the two countries' foreign interests are much the same, especially as regards international security issues, including the Transnistrian dispute. The ambassador reiterated that Ukraine, which is a guarantor country in the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format, considers the conflict should be solved by preserving Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity and respecting the interests of the Transnistrians. The ceremony to hoist the Ukrainian flag at the Embassy of Ukraine in Chisinau was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian community in Moldova. “Ukraine moved towards obtaining its independence together with the blue-yellow flag.
