The government in Chisinau has approved the signing of a new protocol between the Moldovan Ministry of Education and its Ukrainian counterpart regarding collaboration between 2015 and 2018. The final text was agreed upon during the negotiations that took place in Kiev on May 14 and 15, IPN reports.
According to the agreement, the two countries will mutually offer their citizens 34 places in higher education establishments in the respective country: 22 undergraduate, 10 master's degree places and 2 doctoral scholarships. Professional improvement trainings will be organized yearly for Romanian language teachers in Ukraine and for Ukrainian language teachers in Moldova. Training groups will consist of 25 people each and the courses will last 2 weeks.
80% of all the places will be allocated for graduates of Romanian language high-schools in Ukraine and for graduates of Ukrainian language schools in Moldova.
The protocol can be extended should the two sides agree on it.
