The Under 21 national team of Moldova managed to score only a 0-0 draw with Malta at home. The match formed part of the qualifying rounds of the 2017 UEFA European Championship, IPN reports.
The U-21 team played a match in Chisinau after a long pause. So far the games were played in Tiraspol. The return to the capital city didn’t bring good luck to the team trained by Igor Ursachi. The guests could have gone home with three points, but goalkeeper Victor Buga had an exemplary performance and prevented Malta from scoring.
“We also had occasions for scoring. The match would have been different if we had scored,” stated Igor Ursachi.
On June 15, the U-21 team meets Montenegro away. In the first match of the qualifying rounds, Moldova was beaten by Belgium 2-1.
