The Under-21 national football team of Moldova was beaten 0-1 by the similar squad of Armenia in a friendly played at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau. The only goal was scored by Hakob Hakobyan in the 72nd minute with a long distance kick, IPN reports.
Striker Alexandru Boiciuc missed the biggest change for Moldova when the score was 0-0. “We had several chances of scoring. There is a problem that we should solve. In this game we tested a number of players and the changes didn’t produce the expected results,” Under-21 coach Danut Oprea told a news conference.
On June 13, Moldova plays San Marino away within the qualifying rounds of the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
