Moldova's national youth team was defeated 0-4 by Italy in Catania. The hosts’ goals were scored by Scamacca (in the 33rd minute), Frattesi (52, 63) and Tumminello (69), IPN reports.
Spotter Sergiu Cleșcenco used the following players: Agachi, Boico (Berco 81), Ursu, Storm (Carostoian 58), Dijinari, Dros, Tin, Christmas, Nihaev (Chelari 58), Belousov (Mamaliga 81), Nicolaescu (Gulceac 67).
"We met a very strong team, which this year played in U-20 World Championship semi-finals. They have titular players who perform in Serie A teams. In the second round, we were exhausted”, Sergiu Cleșcenco, coach of the national youth team of Moldova, said at the press conference.
The match with Italy was a verification test before the match with Wales to be held in Chisinau, on October 11, in the framework of 2021 European Championship preliminaries.
