U-19 team coach believes in his pupils
Moldova Under-19 coach Sergiu Chirilov told a news conference on Friday he is confident his pupils will defeat the national squad of Andorra in the 2011 European Championship preliminaries, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The footballers are ready to show a good play and we hope we will achieve the wanted result. Any adversary fights for victory, but we must win against such opponents as Andorra. My pupils are ambitious and will not allow the adversary to cause us problems,” Chirilov said.
The coach also said that the team's aim is to take the second position in the group. “At this yearend, we have three important matches and we intend to achieve our goal, the second place. First we will focus on the encounter with Andorra. Afterward, we will devote our attention to the round with Russia. We hope to defeat hem. The results achieved by other teams could favor us,” Chirilov said.
The Moldova against Andorra match will be played in Tiraspol on October 10. Moldova's Under-19 squad is now the fourth in the preliminary group.
