U-19 national football team draws first match at Granatkin competition

The national Under-19 football team of Moldova played the first match within this year’s international tournament in memory of Valentin Granatkin. Moldova tied 0-0 with current champion Slovenia, IPN reports.

It was the debut match of Oleg Fistican as coach of the Under-19 team after this left Saxan last yearend.

The manager used the following players: Victor Straistari, Igor Chiperi, Vadim Dijinari (Marin Popescu, 60th minute, Vitalie Damascan, 68th), Victor Bogaciuc, Ion Angheluta, Radu Scoarta, Yevgheny Berco, Denis Furtuna, Ion Postica, Ion Mamaliga (Andrei Calac, 75th), Nikita Yurashko (Vladislav Boico, 89th).

Moldova is to play against the team of Saint Petersburg on January 11 and against Iran on January 13. Depending on the place occupied in the group, Moldova will play two more games against opponents that will become known later.
