A 60-year-old man in Morenii Vechi village, Ungheni district, was robbed in his home. A gang broke into his house, beat him, and took what they found most valuable: two pairs of gold earrings, three wristwatches and 50 dollars cash. The robbery landed the man in hospital with multiple injuries.
The police detained three suspects, including two young women. All three suspects are from Chisinau and are 18-24 years old.
The police searched the car which the suspects allegedly used for the stickup, but also their homes, where the items stolen from the man were found, as well as the knife used in the crime and the clothes they were wearing on the day of the crime.
The suspects face from 8 to 10 years in prison.
