A man aged 24 died when he violently crashed his motorcycle into a curb in the evening of August 2. Another man, of 28, was killed when he was struck by a car by the side of the road.
Diana Fetco, head of the press service of the National Patrolling Inspectorate, has told IPN that the first case happened in Dascova village of Orhei district. The young man, who was from this village, lost control of the motorcycle at a turn while speeding. The motorcycle hit a curbstone. The blow to the driver’s head was fatal as he didn’t have a crash helmet.
The second accident occurred on Chisinaului St in Falesti town. A car driven by a 22-year-old resident of the town struck a pedestrian aged 28 who was walking on the side of the roadway. The pedestrian died in the Falesti district hospital as a result of his injuries.
The police urge the drivers to drive carefully and not to drink alcohol before setting off.
