A two-year-old girl was sexually abused and abandoned on a field near a lyceum of Causeni town. A woman found her in the morning of September 26 and called the police. Doctors established that she was suffering from hypothermia.
Press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Sabina Cojusnean has told IPN that the doctors from Causeni confirmed that the girl was raped. The child was immediately transported to the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau and is now under medical supervision.
The police have three suspects. Biological samples were taken from them to determine if they had sex with the girl. According to press reports, the girl’s grandfather is among the suspects. The police are trying to establish where the parents were when the tragedy happened.
The rapist faces 10 to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment.
