A nearly two-year-old boy has been rescued from being run over by a taxicab. Chisinau Road Police Inspector Ion Roscovanu told Info-Prim Neo that the little Sorin Bivol and his mother were getting out of a Dacia Logan car, 1449 taxi service. The boy’s mother was about to close the door of the car when all of the sudden the driver began to move backwards, and the baby that was standing in the back of the car got right under it. The taxi driver, 30, stopped the car at the mother’s desperate cry, and pulled the child out. Fortunately, the baby boy got under the axle and avoided injuries. In order to check the child’s state of health, an ambulance was called, which transported the boy to the Child and Mother Centre. The case has been taken over by the Road Police, which qualified it as an accident. In case investigations will prove that the boy was somehow injured, the taxi driver will either be deprived of his driving licence for up to two years or be fined MDL 300 to 400. During the past day, 15 traffic accidents with no injured were registered. Traffic agents recorded 4 drivers under the influence, and 90 cases of speeding.
