A girl of about two, who was wandering near the Central Market of Chisinau, was taken to the municipal placement and rehabilitation center for children of an early age. She will stay there until her identity is discovered. The child could not tell her name, who are her parents and where she lives.
The center’s director Maria Jechiu has told IPN that the girl was brought in dirty clothes and with many mosquito bites. She was scared and hungry. The child does not speak, but understands Romanian. She can stay for 45 days at the placement center and will be then taken over by the tutelage authorities, if her family is not found meanwhile.
Anyone with any information about the child is asked to call on 022 27-01-84 / 27-22-57 or 0795 166 51. The Chisinau Police Division warns the parents to cautiously supervise their children and to immediately inform the police if these go missing.
