A girl aged two fell from the sixth floor of an apartment building situated in Ciocana district of Chisinau. It happened when she was playing with her older sister and their mother went out of the room for a while.

Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati said the incident occurred on Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd on Wednesday evening. The police established that the two-year-old girl and her sister aged ten climbed onto the windowsill. The younger girl fell on the roof of an annex of another apartment building. She was rushed to the hospital for medical care.

The police repeatedly call on the parents to restrict the children’s access to windows and to block the windows by using special devices so as to avoid tragedies. There should be no chairs, tables or cabinets on the balcony as the children can climb onto them and fall out.
