A child aged two from Geamăna village of Anenii Noi district on February 17 was rushed to the hospital with respiratory insufficiency after he fell into a deep dump with animal waste.
Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Anenii Noi Police Inspectorate Silvia Vetcu said the minor was playing with his three brothers and with several neighbors in the garden behind the house, where there was the waste dump. The parents were in the house. The minors’ father was the one who noticed the absence of the child and immediately went to the dump, where he found the child unconscious and immediately gave him first aid.
Afterward the child was taken to the Anenii Noi District Hospital and then to the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau.
The Institute’s spokesman Maxim Cazacu has told IPN that initially the child was taken to the intensive care section and was then transferred to the pneumology section when his state of health improved. The boy is now out of danger.
