Two women aged 63 and 64, one from Bălți and another one from Ceadîr-Lunga, died because of the novel coronavirus, taking the death toll from COVID-19 to 219, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, 251 patients are in a serious state in the hospital, with 20 of them being put on a ventilator.

As many as 83 persons who got cured of COVID-19 were discharged from the hospital on May 18. A number of 2,508 persons recovered so far.

The number of infections with COVID-19 in Moldova now stands at 6,138. Of those infected, 797 are from the Transnistrian region, while 1,349 are healthcare workers.
