A woman from Dubasari district was sentenced to 12 years in jail for killing her baby. Her accomplice got a 3 years' sentence, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office. In December 2009, one of the women gave birth to a boy in the store of the pub-shop in the village. The women then drowned the boy in a bowl with water. In order to hide they crime, the women wrapped the body in a cloth, put in a carton box and buried it at night, at the outskirts of the local cemetery. The woman who gave birth to the boy said she would kill the newborn since the moment she had found about her pregnancy, saying she already had three children and that her husband abandoned her.
