Two TV channels warned over obscene SMS on air
Two TV stations have been publicly warned and sanctioned by the Broadcasting Coordination Council for breaking ethics rules of the Broadcasting Code, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The cease-and-desist orders were issued after TV viewers complained of obscene SMS messages being aired during primetime on TVC 21 and Muzica TV, which may affect the physical and moral development of children and teenagers.
The Broadcasting Council urges the channels under Moldova’s jurisdiction to refrain from airing short mobile text messages with obscene and indecent contents. Broadcasters must place warnings at the beginning and during interactive TV shows to inform the viewers that text messages which do not meet grammar rules or contain obscene words will not be accepted.
