The Prosecutors’ Superior Council today appointed Ștefan Șaptefraț head of the Chisinau Prosecution Office for a five-year term. Also today, Nicolae Chitoroagă was appointed head of the Prosecution Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases.

Ștefan Șaptefraț was until now deputy head of the Anticorruption Prosecution Office. He won the job in a score-based contest, beating two other candidates.

Nicolae Chitoroagă’s previous post was interim head of the same Office. He will also serve five years in this capacity, and so will his newly-appointed deputies: Lucreția Zaharia, Valeriu Bodean, Vitalie Busuioc and Vitalie Stoinov.

At the same time, the Prosecutors’ Superior Council appointed Eduard Varzar to replace Șaptefraț as deputy head of the Anticorruption Prosecution Office.
