A 14-year-old minor and an 18-year-old are suspected of breaking into several cars and stealing goods worth a total of 150,000 lei. The boys were detained after they broke the windows of three cars parked on Dacia Avenue and stole various items in one night, IPN reports.

Asked by IPN, the head of the press service of the Chisinau Police Directorate, Natalia Stati, specified that the two teenagers had committed thefts before. "If their guilt will be proved, they will be punished at the court's decision, according to the law," the communicator added.

The investigation revealed that both youngsters were allegedly involved in six other thefts, not only from cars, but also from a dwelling and the staircases of apartment blocks, from where they stole bicycles.

They are being investigated at large and face a fine of between 32 500 and 67 500 lei, community service or up to four years in prison.
