Two teenagers set off for Europe with a map of Romania

With just a map of Romania in their hands, two boys, 15 and 17, started their journey towards the European Union. The minors were apparently not aware of the fact that they had to bear passports to cross the border, learning this information from the Moldovan border guards, who detained them for attempting to cross the border illegally, Info-Prim Neo reports. The teenagers decided to cross the border on May 9 in the evening. At 22.00, during the patrolling mission, the border guards spotted two persons on the bank of the Prut River. The minors stated they are natives of Vadul lui Isac village, Cahul, recognizing that they intended to swim across the Prut River to reach Romania. In two days alone, the border guards detained 26 persons who tried to cross the state border illegally. There were registered 4 cases of fish poaching and counteracted 2 smuggling cases.
