Two teenage girls hospitalized after rape attempt
Two Chisinau teenage girls, aged 12 and 15, have been hospitalized at the Mother & Child Center after an attempted rape on them which took place on Tuesday early morning at around 4:00 AM as the girls were walking on Mircea cel Batran Blvd with a relative, Emergency Service doctor-coordinator Ludmila Untura told Info-Prim Neo.
Other details haven’t been revealed. The case is investigated by the police.
Three persons, including a minor, were injured in traffic accidents. According to Road Safety Inspector Ion Roscovanu, a 37-year-old female pedestrian was stricken at 8:00 by a Mercedes car near the intersection of Decebal Blvd and Zelinski Str, fracturing her left leg bones.
A third grade girl attending Liviu Rebreanu School was hit by a Mercedes-190 on Dacia Blvd. The girl suffered soft tissue injuries of the right knee.
In a more serious condition – with head trauma and brain concussion – was hospitalized a 56-year-old woman after the Daewoo cab she was traveling in collided with another taxi on Tudor Vladimirescu Street.
Over the past day and night, ambulance crews responded to 902 emergency calls. There were registered 113 cases of acute viral diseases, 63 cases of trauma, 10 brain strokes and a record high number of mumps reports – 98. During the same period, traffic police officers issued 430 tickets, including 90 for speeding, 18 for driving at red, 23 for drunk-driving, and 46 tickets to pedestrians for jaywalking.
