Two members of the Romanian diplomatic corps have been declared personae non gratae in Moldova and must leave the country within 24 hours, Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said in a communique. Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Filip Teodorescu was summoned today by the Ministry and informed of the decision and of the reasons for the expulsion. In addition, the Ministry has summoned Moldova’s Ambassador to Romania Lidia Gutu for talks. The communique sets forth the incompatibility of the diplomats’ activity with their diplomatic status as the reason for their expulsion. Other details were not released. Info-Prim Neo’s repeated attempts to get in touch today with the Ministry’s PR Department and the Romanian Embassy for comments have failed.
