Moldova does not yet have ambassadors in the United States and in Spain. The information was specified for IPN by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, which noted that the appointment of the new ambassadors hasn’t been yet included in its agenda, IPN reports.
After a number of ambassadors were recalled last year, 19 new ambassadors were named in October 2015 and then in February 2016. Ruslan Bolbocean serves as ambassador to Ukraine, Dumitru Braghis – to Russia, Corina Calugaru – to the Council of Europe, Veaceslav Dobanda – to Sweden, Lilian Moraru – to France, Gabriela Moraru – to Israel, Mihai Gribincea - to Romania, Valeriu Frija – to Lithuania, Oleg Serebrian – to Germany, Aurel Ciocoi – to the Republic of China, while Eugen Revenco – to Latvia.
Another eight ambassadors were appointed by presidential decrees this February. The list contained no candidate for the post of ambassador to Spain.
