Two inspectors of the National Patrolling Inspectorate were discharged from posts because they violated the ethical and deontological norms. Within an internal inquiry held by the Inspectorate, it was established that the police officers had an inappropriate behavior when they drew up a report against a driver, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the National Patrolling Inspectorate, videos showing two patrolling inspectors behaving brutally and arrogantly towards a driver were posted on social networking sites on May 15. Based on these videos, the Inspectorate held an internal inquiry and determined that the policemen were rude and arrogant at a time when they had to be polite and coherent so as to avoid provocations.
It was also established that the inspectors pretended to have lost the documents presented by the driver, causing thus a conflict situation. Therefore, the officers grossly violated the Policeman’s Code of Ethics and Deontology, were brutal, used offensive replies and expressions and took unwise actions. They also acted in breach of the Law on the Police and the Status of Police Officer.
As a result of the findings, the administration of the National Patrolling Inspectorate ordered that the patrolling inspectors be dismissed.
