Two persons were discovered dead in a car that got stuck in snowdrifts close to Coșcalia village of Căușeni district. Rescuers were called out to tow away the vehicle. Another man was found dead on the road to Cruglic village of Criuleni district.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Liliana Pușcașu said the call to the 112 Service was made at about 8 a.m. Employees of the Inspectorate travelled to the scene and towed the car away. The man and the woman found in the car were dead.
Press officer of the Căușeni Police Inspectorate Mariana Didenco said the cause of death of the two persons will be established by postmortems.
In the other case that was reported in Criuleni district, the victim was a man aged 48 from Izbiște village. Asked by IPN to provide details, press officer of the Criuleni Police Inspectorate Elena Băetrău said the police were informed that a man was lying on the road going to Cruglic. No signs of a violent death were found on the body.
It snowed heavily all over Moldova and the high winds formed snowdrifts, blocking road sections. At least two persons died on Sunday in road accidents that occurred due to the severe weather. Tens of cars skidded off the road and remained blocked in snowdrifts, waiting for the assistance of rescuers. An orange and yellow code advisory had been in force in the period.
