Two kidney transplant operations were successfully performed in Moldova during March 11-12. The operations were carried out by a joint team of Moldovan and Belgian doctors at the National Clinical Hospital, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Health Ministry. A woman donated a kidney to her 24-year-old daughter, while a man aged 32 received a kidney from a relative. According to the Ministry, the operations went smoothly. Two kidney transplant operations were performed in Moldova last May, after a pause of over five years. The operations took place at the National Clinical Hospital under the direction of a Belgian professor. The first hepatic transplant operation after a long hiatus was carried out at the same hospital at the end of February. A 53-year-old woman was transplanted a part of her son’s liver.
