Two officials of the Parliament and the Border Police were detained for treason and plotting against the Republic of Moldova in their communication with the employee of an embassy in Chisinau, IPN reports.

According to the Security and Intelligence Service, it started in 2023. One of the officials is suspected of treason after allegedly collecting and delivering information to the embassy employee to be used to the detriment of the interests of the Republic of Moldova.

The second official is suspected of plotting against Moldova. He acted in order to obtain personal benefits. He maintained contact with the embassy employee in order to gather and transmit to this information to be used to the detriment of the interests of the Republic of Moldova.

PCCOCS and SIS officers carried out searches in Parliament on Wednesday. The information was confirmed to the press, but no names were given. It is speculated that the head of the Parliament’s Legal Department Ion Creangă is involved.
