Two children were confirmed with COVID-19 immediately after being born. They contracted the virus from their mothers. After receiving treatment, the newborns were discharged in a satisfactory state, Maria Znagovan, division head at Maternity Hospital No. 2 of Chisinau, was quoted by IPN as saying on April 25.

After the meeting of the National Focal Point, Maria Znagovan said nine pregnant women confirmed with COVID-19 are now being treated at their hospital. Three are in a medium grave state, while six are in satisfactory condition. As many as 41 women diagnosed with COVID-19 have been treated at Maternity Hospital No. 2 until now. Of them, 28 were cured and discharged, while four gave birth while under treatment.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that 215 persons with COVID-19 are now in a serious state, while eight are in very grave condition. Fourteen patients were put on a ventilator.

Seventy persons were discharged on April 24. As many as 825 persons have been cured of the disease so far.
