Two new vaccines for children
Two new vaccines for children – against diarrhea and against pneumonia - will appear in the medical system of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The subject was discussed in a press club meeting organized by the Journalistic Investigations Center and the UNICEF Representative Office in Moldova on May 22. Deputy Minister of Health Mihai Magdei said the vaccine against diarrhea will be administered since July, while against pneumonia from 2013.
The two vaccines will be injected to children up to the age of one.
Mihai Magdei also said that the rate of vaccinated children in Moldova exceeds 90%. In the rest of the cases, the parents refused to accept the vaccination.
A sum of 12 million lei is spent yearly in Moldova on purchasing vaccines, while another 4 million lei used for the purpose represents the financial support from UNICEF.
