Two new parties have appeared on the political arena, one created at the end of last year and another one founded at the beginning of this year. These are the political party “Victory” and the political party “Unity”. Thus, the number of political parties registered in Moldova rose to 80, IPN reports.
According to the Public Services Agency, the party “Victory” was registered on December 28, 2023, with Vadim Grozavu as its chairman. The party says that it has 1,331 members. “The political party “Victory” is based on the fundamental principles of transparency, legality, fairness, guarantee of legal security, holding patriotic and strong positions. We are a pro-Moldovan, pro-citizens party. We believe that for the development of the state, a clear vision on its future is needed, free from the influence of geopolitical opinions and interests,” the party’s political program reads.
The political party “Unity” is party No. 80, which was registered on January 5, 2024. The chairman of the party is Dmitrii Furdui, and the party shows that it has 1,199 members. “The ultimate goal of the party is to build a society of freedom in accordance with the law. Moldova’s political elite has become a caste. Over the past decade, the governments captured the state and the current government established dictatorship in the country, attacking human rights and fundamental freedoms. We will abolish dictatorship and bring to justice those responsible for crimes against democracy,” the newly created party’s program says.
Five political parties were created last year. The first political party was registered in January by the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban – the National Alternative Movement. In March, doctor and activist Dragoș Galbur founded the Moldovan National Party. In May, the League of Towns and Communes Party was registered, with the mayor of Leova Alexandru Bujorean as one of the party’s chairpersons. In August, two other parties were created – the Respect Moldova Movement, led by former Democrat MP Eugeniu Nichiforciuc, and the Social Reform Movement, headed by Igor Istrati. At the end of the year, the political party “Victory” was registered.
