Athlete Nina Căpăţînă won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan. She competed in the weight throw and scored 17.16 meters. The winner was Turkey’s Pinar Akyol with the score of 17.88 meters, IPN reports.

The freestyle wrestler Constantin Chirilov won the bronze in Baku. He staged with a victory in the 51 kg weight category in front of Turkey’s Simsek, but then lost to Rustam Dolaev from Russia, who went on to become a finalist. In the playoffs, Constantin Chirilov prevailed over Poland’s Kamil Barlowski and Georgia’s Otar Mamulashvili.

Yesterday Mihaela Samoil won the bronze in the 49 kg weight category at the European Youth Olympic Youth Festival. The competition will end on July 27th.
