Two more institutions join Initiative Group for Creating Printed Copies Auditing Office

Two more institutions – Makler SRL and SC Komsomolskaya Pravda Basarabia SRL – decided to join the Initiative Group for Creating Printed Copies Auditing Office of Moldova, which is to be created by the end of next June, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Independent Journalism Center, the office will help increase transparency as regards the number of copies of newspapers and the investments in publicity in the print media and, implicitly, will contribute towards the fortification of a viable press in Moldova. “The Printed Copies Auditing Office will be a nonprofit organization that will provide accurate information about the number of copies and other types of studies and about the audience and Internet traffic, first of all for the advertising industry. Its membership will include major advertising players: press editors/owners of media outlets, advertising agencies and publicity clients, distribution agencies,” the communiqué says. The initiative is the result of a media campaign and of a number of meetings as part of the project “Improvement of Relevant Institutions’ Capacities for Creating the Printed Copies Auditing Office of Moldova”, which will be implemented until June 2009. Presently, the Initiative Group is composed of representatives of 10 media outlets, 6 advertising agencies and 2 publicity clients. Among these are: PRI Spros i Predlojenie SRL (SP), the Association of Independent Press, Ziarul de Garda SRL, PP Timpul de dimineata, APROM Grup SRL, Patriot Studio SRL, Orange Moldova SA, etc.
