A child aged two months died after two cars collided and one of them was projected onto the sidewalk where two mothers with babies in carriages were walking. It happened in the center of Caragaș village of the Transnistrian region on May 30, IPN reports.
The de facto interior ministry of Transnistria said one of the vehicles in which there was the driver and two passengers moved along the central street going from Slobozia to Tiraspol. The impact occurred when another car that was coming from a secondary road didn’t give way to the first car. As a result of the collision, the two cars were projected onto the sidewalk and one of them struck two women with baby carriages.
Seven adults and two children were taken to the hospital with different injuries from the scene. The two-month-old baby didn’t survive. The other child aged one year was admitted to the surgery unit.
The driver and the passenger from the car that didn’t give way were reportedly inebriated. They both refuse to say who was driving the car when the accident occurred.
