Two Moldovans suspected of stealing seven luxury cars

Two Moldovans aged 34 and 40 were arrested by the police for thefts of cars. The police suspect they stole seven luxury cars to the value of €350,000 in Chisinau during three years. Two Ukrainians who formed part of the same group were announced wanted, Ion Bodrug, deputy head of the Ministry of the Interior's police department, told a news conference on March 23, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Toyota Land Cruiser cars were sold in Ukraine. If found guilty, the two Moldovans would serve up to seven years behind bars. The police also detained a group specialized in thefts of VAZ minibuses and cars. The three suspects are from Anenii Noi district. 'The given persons stole cars, disassembled them and buried them afterward so that they could easier sell them later,” Ion Bodrug said. Seventeen cases of theft have been reported since the start of this year. Fifty-nine cars were sold in 2009. Twelve cases remained unsolved.
