Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti awarded on Thursday, September 13, two Orders of the Republic, the highest national honor. Other medals and honors were offered to a larger group of people for “long and prodigious work in their field of activity and high professional mastery”, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the President’s Office, the Order of the Republic was awarded to university professor Alexei Barbaneagra, Dr. Hab. of Law, and Emil Ghildescu, member of the Union of Plastic Artists. 53 other people received the Order of Honor, the “Glory of Labor” Order, the Civic Merit medal, the honorific titles “Emeritus Person” and “People’s Artist”. Las week, the Order of the Republic was awarded to PL leader Mihai Ghimpu and to journalist Nicolae Negru.
