Two Moldovan citizens were safely evacuated from Kabul to Islamabad, Pakistan, on Sunday, August 22, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration  press release (MAEIE).

According to the Ministry, despite extremely difficult conditions on the ground, Moldovan citizens were assisted to reach safety in Islamabad with the support of the United Nations World Food Programme and were later picked up by Romanian Embassy staff in Pakistan.

Four Moldovans remain in Afghanistan. According to MAEIE, they are safe.
