Two minors from Chisinau were sentenced to 8 and 9 years in jail for murder and burglary, IPN reports.

According to the indictment, in August 2016 the two boys, both aged 17, broke into an apartment in Centru district of Chisinau with the aim of stealing money and things. They hit the women who lived in the apartment with a stone and this died on the spot. Later the two stole money and possessions assessed at over 16,000 lei.

The burglars were arrested the next day after the commission of the crime. When being questioned by prosecutors, the minors admitted their guilt. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
