The police have arrested two young men, aged 19 and 24, suspected of committing an attempt to rob a filing station in Balti. One of them is also under investigation for robbing a bureau de change in Balti on December 11, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate of Police announced that the filling station was attacked on Monday early morning. The thieves threatened the staff with a knife and something that looked like a gun. However, they didn’t manage to steal anything as the staff resisted and sounded the alarm. The men fled before the guards arrived. Shortly after, the police arrested two suspects.

A search at their homes found clothing similar that worn by the robbers, an air pistol, socks used as masks and a knife.

The investigators also found that the 24 year old had previously been in jail for theft and robbery. Both men are unemployed.
