Two men from Tantareni village got 18 and, respectively, 19 years for intentionally and brutally killing a villager, IPN reports.

The prosecutors in Anenii Noi established that last September the two, being under the influence of alcohol, argued with a villager and then beat him for several hours. When seeing that the victim didn’t show any signs of life, the men abandoned the body in a corn field. They were caught the next day.

Besides serving time in jail, the two will also pay 200,000 lei in non-pecuniary damages to the victim’s father.

The sentence is not yet definitive.
