The Chisinau Court of Appeal has sentenced two men to 6 years' imprisonment each for robbing a filling station, after the prosecutors appealed the non-custodial sentences ordered by a district court, IPN reports.

In December 2012, the men wearing balaclavas broke into a filling station on Chisinau-Hincesti motorway, beat and tied up the operator on shift,broke open the cash register and stole 12,000 lei. The men were arrested at the home of one of them, who proved to be a former worker at that filling station.

The sentences can be further appealed.
